Mel Tormé ‎"Raindrops Keep Fallin' On My Head" 1970

Mel Tormé's recordings for Reprise Records is fantastic, this groovy LP from 1970 has sadly never been reissued (just as is previous Reprise album) and it's a shame. The crooner offers some groovy and funky jazz-pop typical of time, he does swingin versions of Sunshine Superman, Spinning Wheel and the title for example. Groovy!

Enjoy!

  1. Thanks for pointing out (and sharing) this gem! Interesting, that although it's not reissued on CD, both Raindrops and A Time for Us are available in digital form through Google Music (guess iTunes as well, someone who uses the service may want to check out).

    1. I'm glad you liked you liked Mel! Yes, it's very interestsing, I think someone should release his Reprise Recordings on cd, they both deserve it, so are Mel! Maybe Rhino could release them in a groovy package as "The Complete Reprise Recordings", I guess there are tons of unreleased tunes in the vaults:-D
