Mel Brown ‎"Eighteen Pounds Of Unclean Chitlins And Other Greasy Blues Specialities" 1973

After released a numberous of rather straight but groovy jazz-funk albums for Impulse Records in the 60s and early 70s Mel Brown made this unpolished, raw and dirty LP for Bluesway Records in 1973. It's a pretty weird album full of fuzzy and psychedelic guitars with a funky groove with blues in the bottom. Many tunes are very far out, with vibes of psychedelia and improvisation. It's a kind of more spiritual instrumental variation of Muddy Waters album Electric Mud - but with a more edgy and dirty sound. Groovy!

Enjoy!
