Nate Lepine is a jazz tenor saxophonist from Chicago, and Vortices from 2016 is his first album as a leader. Musically they works in a soulful contemporary hard bop jazz with elements of spiritual free jazz, the pairing of horns is just amazing. The album is well structured and have a nice modern sound, and you can hear how Lepine and alto saxophonist Nick Mazzarella, bass player Clark Sommers and drummer Quinn Kirschner burns for their musicianship. They really love the jazz they playin, and I love the way the play. Support them here.
