Tony Scott "Manteca" 1973

This LP by Tony Scott was recorded in Sweden summer of 1973, he worked with the cream of swedish jazz musicians at the time on this album (Janne Schaffer, Rune Öfverman, Sture Nordin, Kjell Öhman) and foreign jazz musicians that lived in Sweden in the early to mid seventies (Sabu Martinez, Okay Temiz, Ed Thigpen). The result is a bursting groovy mix of jazz, latin, fusion, funk and soul. The title track may be the highlight but the rest of the album shows that Sweden in the early seventies was such a groovy place!

Enjoy!
