VA - When Blues Comes Around (20 Interpretations Of Blues 1952-2016)

Blues is such a big genre, it's a very individual term, it is what it is - just a feeling - like a moody figure inside your brain. Artist from the 1920s till today has their own interpretation - that's what I try to create and mediate with this mixtape, NOT to made and satisfy with just another compilation for puritans, chronologists or hysterical collectors. For me, this is what blues about.

Lucinda Williams - Doors Of Heaven (2016)
R.L. Burnside - Got Messed Up (2000)
Bobby Bland - St. James Infirmary (1961)
Oscar Brown Jr. - Somebody Buy Me A Drink (1960)
Otis Spann - Half Ain't Been Told (1960)
Jimmy Dawkins - It Serves Me Right To Suffer (1969)
Johnny Shines - Walkin' Blues (1966)
Bukka White - Bed Spring Blues (1969)
Odetta - Chevrolet (1964)
Bridget Saint John - Lazarus (1972)
Nick Cave - Ramblin' Mind (2009)
Tom Jones - Run On (2010)
Tarheel Slim - Weeping Willow (1974)
John Lee Hooker - Down Child (1953)
Rev. Roger L. Worthy & Bonnie Woodstock - Get Back Satan (1965)
David Johansen & Larry Saltzman - The Last Kind Words (2002)
Dr. Ross - Industrial Boogie (1958)
Jimmy Rogers - Out On The Road (1952)
Be Good Tanyas - The Coo Coo Bird (2000)
Gillian Welch - Beulah Land (2001)

Enjoy!
